Soaring over Hawk Valley

Directions: South from Hwy 62. Go to dead end of Lanning Lane and turn left. Go 225 yards to private parking area on right. The trail and parking is on Panorama Pass private property where you are our guest. At midpoint of hike the trail passes through fence line that indicates you’ve entered into the National Monument. The trail is well marked. The 360 view at the top is cascade of vistas. San Jacinto Mountain is to the south, San Gorgonio Mountain is to the west, the West side of Joshua Tree National Park are the mountains to the east. Morongo Valley the 8-mile-long ribbon of land that connects the low desert to the high desert spreads out below to the north. Hawk Valley is one of Panorama Pass’s 5 Hideaways. This location will soon also be the home of a Treasure Hunt that is being developed.
